EGYPT. Abu Simbel. The facade and huge statues of Rameses II to whom the Great Temple of Abu Simbel is dedicated. The whole temple had to be raised 65m (213ft) when the waters of Lake Nasser rose following the construction of the High Dam on the Nile. 2006.
