JAPAN. Lockhart Castle. 'This most Scottish castle is a hotel set in a woodland about 100 miles outside Tokyo. The Japanese love notions of a romantic Europe, and this hotel is a popular venue for weddings, with receptions held in the medieval banqueting halls. The castle, originally commissioned by a Japanese rock star, was built about seven years ago. When his fortune turned and he could no longer afford to finish the castle, he sold it to the owner of a local brick company, who completed the work'. 1998.
