G.B. England. Guisely, Leeds.
The color mixing room at Abraham Moon & Sons. Colored wools are mixed to create mixed hues in two cavernous rooms. The wool gets sprayed into the room via ceiling ducts, and gets mixed as it drops, like snow flurries to the floor. The wool is then raked manually into vacuum chutes in the floor for further mixing. Out of all the procedures I saw, this was the most Willy Wonka-like. At Abraham Moon & Sons, a wool mill established in 1837. Abraham Moon is the only fully vertical wool mill left in the UK. 2013.
