Bangladesh. Munshiganj. Shamoukbari. The Padma (Ganges) river floods this village every year and so houses for people and animals are built of bamboo and on stilts to withstand the regular inundations. Here young girls get pure water from the pump but allow the heavy bowl to sink into the flood water thus contaminating the fresh supply.
