IRAN. 2017. Zohreh Boroumand, 1989, from Karaj.
-So you are from Karaj and your husband is from Rasht, were do you live now?
Now we are living in Rasht because of its amazing people and weather.
-What’s your Job?
We have our family business.
-How long does it take from Karaj to here?
4 or 5 hours.
-Did you come here with your family when you were young?
Yes, Mostly in the springs because the weather was amazing in the springs and we loved the local food, Gilan is famous because of its cuisine and and hospitable people.
-What do you eat more here? Can you name some of the local foods?
Mirza ghasemi, Baghala khoresht, different kind of fishes from Caspian Sea.
-Who did you use to travel with?
Family and friends.
-How did you feel after your trip?
I remember I used to feel calm and full of energy at the same time.
-What do you always pack with you?
Personal stuff, clothes. The most important thing is our tooth-brushes; we never travel without our tooth-brushes.
-Do you think there is national pride or identity attached to Caspian Sea?
There is nothing left from the sea to make us feel proud or to have the national pride. As you can see the beach is so dirty and the water is really polluted. All the ports are close because we don’t have a good relationship with the other countries around Caspian Sea. Each country believe that they own the sea and there is no tolerance in within, the beach doesn’t have any facilities. We don’t feel proud of Caspian sea but at the end we like it.
-How often do you come to the beach?
Every month.
