USA. Clarendon, Virginia. 2016. Richard Spencer, American white nationalist, known for promoting white supremacist views and coining the term Alt-Right. Spencer advocates for a white homeland for a "dispossessed white race" and calls for "peaceful ethnic cleansing."
Shortly after the election of Donald Trump, Spencer faced criticism after the annual conference of his organization the National Policy Institute. As Spencer proclaimed “Hail Trump, hail our people, hail victory!” the crowd erupted into cheers and Nazi salutes. He also referred to his critics using the term "Lügenpresse" (lying press) a word popularized by the Nazis.
