IRAQ. Al-Sodour, Diyala Province. July 22, 2016. Burned palm trees remain inside the Al-Sodour Tourist Park, near the Al-Sodour Dam in Iraq's Diyala Province. In January of 2015 Iraqi security forces, backed by Shiite militias, fought a decisive battle in and around the tourist park against Islamic Sate militants controlling the area. After a fighting for more than ten days, Iraqi forces regained control of the area.
