USA. Waveland, Mississippi. September 5, 2005. Much of the coastal area of Mississippi was destroyed including trees, highways, railroads, ports, marinas, commercial boats, downtown businesses and residential neighborhoods. Trees were snapped like tooth-picks and all homes on the beach area had completely disappeared from the coast. In this photograph are the remains of a Catholic Church. All is gone except the floor. Scattered articles from inside the church have been found and set up in the altar area of the sanctuary.
