NORTH KOREA. Pyongyang. 1987. The Tower of Juche, located on the bank of the Taedong River, and the giant, pyramid-shaped Willow Hotel, pictured here, dominated the skyline of Pyongyand, and can be seen from anywhere in the city. The structure is 300 meters tall and has 105 stories and 3,000 guest rooms. Construction of the building was never completed, and no official explanation for this has ever been given.
