SOUTH KOREA. Seoul. I do not remember visiting a city with as many churches as Seoul. Statistics show that 28 percent of all South Koreans are Buddhists, 19 percent Protestans, and 12 percent Catholics. But Protestants must make up a higher percentage of Seoul's population. The Full Gospel Church in Seoul has 700,000 members, making it the largest Protestant church in South Korea.
The Main Church, located in the Yoido part of Seoul, seats 20,000. Seven services are held on Sunday to allow all parishioners to attend. The founder of the church, the Reverend David Yonggi Cho, says all the masses. Parishioners who have regular income have an obligation to donate 10 percent of their income to the church.
