On the 19th of March, thousands of business people, activists and normal citizens marched through the streets of central Kathmandu, protesting the continuing Maoist extortion practices. THe protests were sparked off when a well-known local hotelier was beaten following his refusal to pay extortion money to the loacl Maoists.
