ICELAND. 2007. The Aldeyjarfoss waterfall is situated in the north of Iceland at the northern part of the Sprengisandur Highland Road. The river Skj‡lfandaflj—t drops here from a height of 20 m.
Aldeyarfoss can potentially be extinguished if dam-building plans proceed on this river. This is a possible scenario if the proposed smelter at Husavik is built, the power options are dams on Skj‡lfandaflj—t and/or Geothermal areas near Krafla.
