THAILAND. Bangkok. 1996. The golden jubilee celebration of the accession to the throne by King Rama IX was held in the Sanam Luang field in Bangkok. The Royal Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaeo, in the background, a special ceremony was held attended by the King and Queen and members of the royal family. Foreign dignataries also attended. The royal guards stood frozen in places throughout the ceremony, adding further dignity to the occasion.
