TURKEY. March 3, 2012. Along the Turkish-Syrian border in Hatay Province. One of two brothers severely injured during a mortar attack in the Syrian city of Hama lays in a makeshift stretcher awaiting an ambulance on the Turkish side of the border with Syria after being smuggled into Turkey for treatment. Turkish soldiers received the injured men on the border and later transported them to a hospital in the Turkish city of Antakya.
Since the start of the Syrian conflict in March of 2011 over 11,000 Syrian refugees have fled the country and are now living in refugee camps along the Turkish border.
