AFGHANISTAN. August 16, 2009. Marines from FOB Sharp prepare to head out on a combat patrol. Within a kilometer of the base, they were ambushed by a group of Taliban and caught in a two hour firefight. Remarkably, no Marines were killed or injured. It is suspected that two Taliban were killed, based on chatter picked up from the Taliban walky talkies.
