CHINA. Shanghai. 1985. Main Street in Shanghai. Nanjing Road in Shanghai is like Tokyo's Ginza, New York's Fifth Avenue, or Paris' Champs-Elysées. It is lined with first-class shops and is always busy with people. On holidays such as Chinese New Year's Day, May Day and National Day, and on Sundays, the crowds are huge. One of the best places to take pictures of the street and the crowd is the restaurant (a favorite of mine) in the Overseas Chinese Hotel, in front of People's Park.
