CAMBODIA. Phnom Penh. 1999. Brisk activity marks mornings near the central market. The citizens of Phnom Penh enjoy a breakfast of noodles and Chinese tea or delicious French bread and coffee. That is how busy days begin for young sleepy-faced shop helpers. Pretty soon the children of the shopkeepers will go off to school in a three-wheeled cycle, the shop helpers gazing longingly after them.
