Hungarian refugees fleeing the National insurgency arriving at the railroad station under construction.
Following the abolition of the "unique" party system the new Hungarian Prime Minister Imre NAGY announced plans for Hungary's withdrawal from the Warsaw pact. Armed insurrection started in the streets on the 24th of October. The uprising was crushed by the Soviet troops and tanks on the 1st of November and brought a deathtoll of over 10.000 people.
