The Polish film director Krzysztof KIESLOWSKI obtained the Venise Gold Lion first prize (shared with Robert ALTMAN for his film SHORT CUTS) for his film entitled BLUE. an enigmatic trilogy which is the first part of Trois Couleurs, Bleu, Blanc, Rouge... composed like pieces of a puzzle. Its heroine is the actress Juliette Binoche, who in the film finds her c composer husband and young daughter are killed in an automobile accident. Asked to complete his unfished concerto, she refuses, and instead invents an entirely new life for herslef.BLANC was filmed in Poland and will be presented at the Berlin film festival in January 1994, ROUGE filmed in Switzerland, will be shown at the Cannes film festival in May 1994.
