G.B. ENGLAND. Ascot. 'I often go to Ascot, and I particularly enjoy Ladies' Day. I think it is the most exuberant, promiscuous and visual event in the British social calendar. The place is vibrant. Everyone is in a good mood. People get drunk and are overly friendly with one another. The day is full of surreal encounters and bizarre conversations. Each time I go I concentrate on different aspects of the day. This time I decided to look at hands, glasses, hats and cigarettes. I have always been fascinated by these accessories'. 1999.
