After penetrations by infiltrators from Jordanian territory for purpose of laying mines and sabotage inside Israel, the Israeli Defense Forces activated patrols to discover traces of such penetrations. If "indicating signs" were discovered, or after the vehicle had struck a mine, mine detectors were activated to lacate and expose additional explosives charges.
