After penetrations by infiltrators from Jordanian territory for purpose of laying mines and sabotage inside Israel, the Israeli Defense Forces activated patrols to discover traces of such penetrations. A tracker sitting on a special chair attached to an arm at the front of a slow driven vehicle, scanned the path before him. If "indicating signs" were discovered, or after the vehicle had struck a mine, mine detectors were activated to lacate and expose additional explosives charges.
the Beit She'An Valley sector.
