Eve Arnold
USA. Petersburg, Va. 1960. The courthouse steps. A lawyer with his briefcase and Rev. Wyatt T. Walker: "Petersberg is the first city to add the dimension of civil disobedience to the social struggle (May 7th sit-in; May 14th arrested). Here there was a law aimed at thwarting sit-ins. It brought on a nonviolent protest resulting in black demonstrators breaking this law and spending time in jail."
