INDIA. “Women Changing India”. Gujarat state. Ahmedabad. Manipur area. April 2010. Rudi No Radio, created by Sewa. They started by buying time on the National radio but now they have their own radio station since 6 months, which emits all day, in a radius of 10 km, and reaches 38 villages. SEWA (Self Employement Women's Association), founded as a trade union by Ela Bhatt, in 1972. SEWA follows the Gandhian philosophy of non-violence and self-reliance. It builds up solidarity amongst women workers and is both an institution and a movement of economic change.
