IRAQ. Basra. 04/04/03.
After intense fighting the Allied forces, British from the south and US from the east, have taken a key position in Basra's southern sector. The British forces are now inside the periphery of the city, still moving cautiously as frequent artillery exchanges continue and sniping becomes more frequent as the forces approach the inhabited areas. Civilians coming in and out of the city are thorouly checked especially after the last suicide attacks at checkpoints.
