BURMA. 2006. A father shoots up heroin while his wife gives heroin to his daughter. Weimin Huang (father) is forty-five years old. Zhang Fujuan (the mother) is forty years old. Mingjie Huang (daughter) three and a half years old. They are Chinese, but came to live in Burma because heroin is cheaper. The parents have been taking heroin for 8 years; their daughter for three and a half. Their daughter was born heroin-dependent. Since birth, her parents have administered the drug to her each day in a sugar-water mixture.
