MALI. Yene village. A Hogon, Dogon spiritual leader, in the cave he uses as home, set in the cliff above the village. Behind him are traces of offerings of blood and millet soup to ancestral spirits. Legends has it that each night the Lebe snake licks the Hogon to keep him alive for the day to break again.
