American fashion designer Virgil Abloh died of cancer at age 41, on November 28, 2021. He had became Louis Vuitton’s artistic director for menswear in March 2018. He was the first black man and American from outside of New York to reach this respected post. Abloh’s work is generally classified as luxury streetwear, a style he developed under his Milan-based brand, Off-White. He was considered as a visionary and one of the most influential designers of his generation.
