Distro - A Russian Summer 

Jonas Bendiksen 

In Russia, one out of three Russian owns a Dacha, those seasonal houses, outside of the city, in which Russians like to spend their short summer times. Even though Dacha could be translated into « cottage », it is convened that the word should remain the same in English, as it bears a long cultural heritage. Generally surrounded by gardens, Dachas vary in forms and sizes.
For National Geographic, Jonas Bendiksen photographed the precious and cherished moments of the Russian summer, through Dacha culture.
