Sweden has come a long way since its strict policy of neutrality during the Cold War. It has stood strongly alongside Ukraine since Russia’s invasion, providing close to 7 billion euro in support of Ukraine’s cause in the form of military, humanitarian and civil support, according to the Swedish government, and last year, after over 200 years of sustained neutrality, it joined NATO as the 32nd member of the alliance.
