Vinci Construction asked Magnum Photos to follow the construction of its major building, from the birth of the structure to their inauguration. Jean Gaumy and Harry Gruyaert photographed the construction of the Granite Tower, at La Defense quarter in Paris, by the architect Christian de Portzamparc. Photographers were chosen for their complementary styles, Harry Gruyaert for his vibrant colours and Jean Gaumy for his black and white approach.
