Jonas Bendiksen was commissioned by La Stampa to go to South Africa and document the use of genetically modified crops (GMO). Bendiksen travelled the country creating grids of images from maize and cotton farms.
South Africa is the world’s 8th biggest producer of GMO crops in the world, and is the leading producer in Africa. Up to 80% of it’s white maize, 55% of yellow maize, 85% of soya and 98% of its cotton crop is from genetically modified seeds.
