Archive - March 13, 2024 : 70th anniversary of the battle of Dien bien Phu 

The Battle of Diên Biên Phû, which took place from March 13 to May 7, 1954, was a decisive moment in the First Indochina War, marking the end of French colonial dominance in the region.
Robert Capa was in the region covering the conflict for Life magazine and, on May 25th in Thai Binh, he died after stepping on a landmine. He was just 40 years old.
