Paolo Pellegrin

Magnum photographer Paolo Pellegrin has been covering the aftermath of three years of caliphate rule in the Middle East. During his journey, he stopped at Mount Sinjar in 2015, where thousands of Yazidi men were killed and their wives, daughters and sisters were forced into sex slavery, and where Kurdish Peshmerga troops fought to protect them and Kurdistan. Pellegrin followed the troops and their fight against ISIS. He then traveled to Kurdistan and photographed the camps where Yazidi refugees sought shelter.
