On March 5th, the firsts oak trees that will be used to restore Notre Dame de Paris’ spire which burnt two years ago have been selected and cut.
The full restoration of the spire designed by Viollet-le-Duc requires about 1000 oak trees, which harvesting was scheduled for 2021. Their identification, following a sustainable forest management, took place from January to the end of February, so that they could be harvested by the end of March.
