Distro - Commemoration of the Srebrenica Genocide 

Paolo Pellegrin 

On July 11, 2012, the 17th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre, Paolo Pellegrin photographed families mourning and burying victims at the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial. His pictures captured scenes of mourning in the streets and at the Potocari warehouse, which held more than 500 coffins that would later be buried in a nearby cemetery. Pellegrin also photographed forensic pathologists matching the DNA of surviving relatives with remains found in mass graves in order to identify those who were murdered in the war.
