It has been 21 years since the former US President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev failed to reach an agreement at the disarmament summit in Reykjavik.

Finding a lot of mutal ground, the two leaders came close to striking a radical arms reduction deal after 11 hours of weeekend long negotiations at Hofdi House in the Icelandic capital.

Details the Reykjavik Deal discussed included plans to limit continental weapons to 6,000 warheads each, a restriction of Soviet missile bases to Asia and US missile bases to the US and eliminate all nuclear missiles within 10 years.
