The Pierre Percée Lake is an artificial lake, the dam of Old Pre is managed by EDF, its water is used to regulate the Moselle flow via the Plain and Meurthe to ensure constant cooling of the Cattenom nuclear power plant in Moselle.
The rain deficit has forced EDF, manager withholding artificial water Meurthe et Moselle, to tap further into the lake in recent weeks.
