In July of 2018, I photographed a series of domestic interiors along Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This 4-mile stretch highlights a particularly eclectic mix of inhabitants: Native Americans and recent college grads, East African immigrants and multi-millionaires.
Like the book from which this work takes inspiration, MESSAGE FROM THE INTERIOR by Walker Evans, the only message is the picture itself. Or as William Carlos Williams so eloquently put it, "no idea but in things."
