Archive - 70th Anniversary of the Citroën 2CV 

Magnum Photographers 

On October 7, 1948, the new Citroën 2CV was presented at the Paris auto show. Since then, it has become an icon of the French auto industry and one of its biggest successes, leading to the car’s democratization. The model’s reputation quickly extended abroad and the 2CV has starred in many movies, building a collective image of it. More than a car, the 2CV is the symbol of an epoch. The production stopped in 1988 and the car became a collector’s item that continues to spark our imagination.
Over the years, Magnum photographers have photographed the famous car from all angles.
