On January 15th 2018, Airbus announced the company might stop the production of its flagship product, the A380 superjumbo, in the coming months if it was not able to confirm new sales.
A new order of 36 A380 air carriers by Emirates air company on Jan 18, 2018 put this threat on hold.

Launched 18 years ago with great fanfare, the A380 was the name of all the superlatives, notably being the world largest civil aircarrier ever built.
