Acclaimed American author Toni Morrison has died at the age of 88. Morrison's long career as a writer, educator, and humanitarian was punctuated by commercial and critical success and numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize in 1988 for her novel "Beloved," the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1993, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012.
