On the occasion of the relase of Patrick Zachmann's new book “So long, China" (Xavier Barral Editions), Magnum presents the photographer's latest feature : China, too fast.
This story, which was produced in Yunnan and in Sichuan in 2012 and 2015, features "intergenerational couples" – young 20-year olds and grandparents - in their family interior. It aims to show the struggles and cultural shocks one can observe within Chinese families today, results of a country who changed very chaoticly and rapidly, as well as the results of thirty five years of one-child policy.
