August 4th marks 25 years since 4 Los Angeles police officers were indicted on civil rights charges by federal prosecutors for their involvement in the Rodney King beating case. The charges were presented to the grand jury in Los Angeles as a response to the violent riots that broke out after each officer was acquitted of charges of excessive force in the videotaped arrest and beating of Rodney King.
