Homo Longevitus


It was a statistic that got me started. I read that in the UK there were more than 10,000 people over the age of 100. I had thought, probably like many others, that there would be a few hundred, so I was surprised at 10,000 and the figure is growing at an increasing rate, such that the Office for National Statistics predicts that 5% of the people alive today in the UK will live to be over 100.
