These photographs follow Dwight D. Eisenhower during a trip to eleven nations during December of 1959. The trip began in Rome with an informal visit with President Gronchi, then to Vatican City, and on to Turkey where he met with President Bayar. Next he went to Pakistan to meet informally with President Ayub Khan; then on to Kabul, Afghanistan where he met with King Mohammed Zahir, followed by a trip to India where he addressed Parliament with President Prasad and Prime Minister Nehru.
