August 28 will mark the 40th anniversary of the March on Washington, when more than 250,000 civil rights protestors descended on Washington, D.C. to demand racial equality and an end to legalized segregation in the United States. The march was the largest demonstration of its kind to date as 2000 "freedom buses" and 30 "freedom trains" brought protestors - including 60,000 whites - from all over the country.
