Saturday, August 21, the first contingent of more than 500 Palestinian guerillas left Beirut for Cyprus amidst the roar of automatic firing of every available weaopn they and their families could find. The trucks carrying the guerillas were met at the port of Beirut by units of the Lebanese National Army and the advance contingent of the Multinational force of 350 French Foreign Legion Paratroopers.
