For the past three months NATO had persisted in its campaign against the Gaddafi-regime military forces. Precision strikes from air and naval forces have been designed to inforce a no-fly zone and to protect civilians from Gaddafi's forces. Ever since the campaign began, Gaddafi's government have been reporting multiple cases of civilian casualties, often without proof. On Monday, June 20th, NATO admitted that a "weapons systems failure" may have resulted in an accidental strike on a civilian area, one that Gaddafi's officials are claiming killed fifteen people.
