Josef KOUDELKA has spent the last years working on Europe's industrial landscapes. After the publication of his book and the opening of his exhibition on "The Black Triangle" he has mainly concentrated on Germany (1997) ,with support from the SIEMENS foundation.

Through panoramics of the South Leipzig area he gives a terrifying view of contemporary industrial environment. The brown coal mines pictured have been constructed through destruction of more than 100 villages.They are now fields of desolation.
