From April to October,each year,250 trains depart from Italy to Lourdes with ailing pilgrims,assisted by volontary nurses.
These trains are called the "white trains",organized since 1903 by UNITALSI,the largest volontary organization in Italy.
This journey to Lourdes is a journey of hope. The last journey for some of these pilgrims seeking cure and holy blessing.
United on the esplanade of the Basilica or in front of the grotto where the young Bernadette SOUBIROUS was said to have had her visions in 1858 , they turn to the Virgin of Lourdes hoping for a miracle.
